About St. Andrew'sWe are a small but diverse congregation. We include about 80 households. We come to St. Andrew’s from communities throughout central and eastern Niagara County. Some of us have been members since the 1950s, when the congregation was first formed, and some of us have just joined within the last two years. We have always brought different perspectives and gifts to the vision we share of being followers of Jesus Christ in this place. To learn more about our history, click here.
Our central worship together is the service of Holy Communion (also called “Holy Eucharist”, or “mass”) on Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. Our worship style is simple but reverent; our choir and congregation sing traditional hymns from our Episcopal hymnal and our choir sings anthems that are both traditional and contemporary. On a typical Sunday, about 90 of us gather for worship, and our volunteer choir includes about 25. Music is for worship is also led by our Gospel Groove Band (youth & adults) and our Children's Choir (children ages 3-12). About 35 children and youth are enrolled in Sunday school (from pre-school to 12th grade), and they lead the service on special occasions. We serve the community through the St. Andrew’s Community Store, The Newfane Community Food Pantry, and special events to raise funds for community organizations.
