We
are a small but diverse congregation.
We come to St. Andrew’s from communities throughout central and
eastern
Niagara
County. Some of us have been
members since the 1950s, when the congregation was first formed, and some of
us have just joined within the last two years.
We have always brought different perspectives and gifts to the
vision we share of being the Body of Christ in this place.

Our
central worship together is the service of Holy Eucharist (also called
“Holy Communion”, or “mass”) on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
Our worship style is simple, but reverent; our choir and
congregation sing traditional hymns from our Episcopal hymnal and our
choir sings anthems that are both traditional and contemporary.
We do not use incense, but we do celebrate a Choral Eucharist (in
which the congregational responses are sung) on special occasions such
as All Saints’ Sunday (the first Sunday in November), Christmas Eve,
Epiphany, Easter, and Pentecost.
On a typical Sunday, about 80 of us gather for worship, and our
volunteer choir includes about 15. To

Our
congregation shares deep bonds, forged through our commitment to support
one another and to serve our community.
We study and pray together in our monthly Bible Studies, in our
Women’s Spirituality Group (twice a month), and in our Spiritual
Reflection Groups (which meet for 4-6 weeks, several times a year).
We also help each other with household chores and repairs through
the God Squad. We serve the community through the St. Andrew’s
Community Store, monthly Community Lunches, Habitat for Humanity, The
Newfane Community Food Pantry, and special events to raise funds for
community organizations. To

St.
Andrew’s is part of the Niagara Deanery (the group of Episcopal
churches in Niagara County) in the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York
(www.episcopalwny.org), the
group of Episcopal churches west of Rochester, bound by the Pennsylvania
border to the south and Lake Ontario to the north.
